Cartonnage is an amazing technique. Making your own fabric box is a great idea! It is so fun and it makes a unique handmade gift! You can make your own keepsake boxes, cases and much more out of paperboard, fabric and glue with this lovely craft!! And your pieces will be sturdy as wood, but made with your favorite fabric!

This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all cardboard you need to make your own fabric treasure box, as shown in the pictures. The pieces of paper (chipboard and poster board) are precut in the right sizes you need for this project. The finished box will be 10” x 6 ¼ ” x 7” inches. The embellishments (charms shown in the pictures are not included in the kit, they are personal options). No worries about cutting paper! Fabric and other contents showed in pictures are not included.

ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS NOW AVAILABLE! The instruction is a very clear PDF tutorial (eBook) with lots of pictures showing in details step by step to guide you through the whole process (it is not video, it's eBook), no steps missing, no guessing! Inside the kit you will find the password and easy directions to go download the instruction to your computer. 

For making the box you will need this kit, two coordinating fabrics (1/2 yard each), glue, rotary cutter, cutting board, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush and masking tape. T

Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) will facilitate the process and give a better finishing for your project. Find them in the tools section of the shop.

Since this is the skin of a dead sheep, it depends on live sheep girth. Anything bigger would likely have to be sewn together from multiple dead sheep. I find the girth of this sheep pelt perfectly acceptable. It is nice and thick and soft and fairly easy to vacuum. I frequently recline on it when stretched out on the floor, and am grateful it does not leave a mess or make noise like my dog, who should be grateful that his pelt is still attached to his body.

These arrived shrink wrapped and when put down as throw rugs, are lumpy. They are a little less so after 10 minutes on air fluff in the dryer. They look nice and fit my bedroom well but I’m concerned about walking over them since I prefer a level surface that is even. Customer support does NOT exist. There appears to be a chat option but there are no responses. Reading other information, I’ve decided to try a metal comb. So now I’m waiting for that to arrive. If it wasn’t so difficult to deal with the size difference, I would have simply returned them. I may still and just purchase a return container.
